10 Most Common Mistakes People Do In Hajj & Umrah

Nobody can be perfect. But doing the same mistakes that a lot of people are doing is also not good. When it comes to Umrah we should avoid the common mistakes of Hajj & Umrah that a lot of people are doing from year over year. So next when you book your Easter Umrah try to avoid the following mistakes to make your Umrah more acceptable to Allah Almighty.

• Think that Any Dua (Pray) is accepted at the First Sight of Kaabah

One of the most common mistake or you even can say a myth found in most pilgrims. There is no evidence that proves about it. For any worship that Muslims do are based on evidence and it doesn’t have an authentic to prove about this pray.

• Screaming Dua’s in Unison

Some people shout with the max of their vocal cords. They do so because they are following an Umrah guide person. Some people also think that reciting duas in such a way would make it acceptable to Allah Almighty. In fact, Allah Almighty knows everything we are planning. Reciting duas by this method also interrupts other pilgrims busy in their own Umrah.

• Kissing Black Stone from a Distant or Stopping in Tawaf to do so

Some people think that their Umrah or Hajj would not be valid if they don’t kiss the Black Stone. Some people also through a ‘flying kiss’ to the Black Stone from a distant. Some even do this at every round of their tawaf.

Another common thing that people do is that they stop during their tawaf to kiss or touch the Black Stone. Both things that people do in Hajj or Umrah are not from the sunnah of our Prophet (PBUH). If one can’t touch the black stone he can simply start tawaf by pointing towards the Black Stone with his hands and taking the intention.

• Specifying Dua’s for each Tawaf Round

Some books written on Umrah or Hajj guide people to recite specific dua at each round of their tawaf around the Kaaba. If it would be true our Holy Prophet (PBUH) must have done this and advised us to do. The only dua specified between the Yemeni Corner and the Black Stone is:

“Rabbana atina’ fid-dunya hasana wa fil-akhirati hasana wa qina adhaban-nar” Al-Bakarah Verse 127

“Our Lord, give us good in this world and good in the Hereafter and save us from the punishment of the Fire.”

• Undertaking Multiple Umrah’s

We have seen a number of people that go to any of the meeqat points to resume the state of ihram and perform Umrah again and again. Some do twice a day and some even more. This is also not from the practice of our Prophet (PBUH).

If leaving Makkah for multiple Umrah performances the Prophet (PBUH) would have done so. He (PBUH) stayed for 19 days in Makkah after the conquest but didn’t leave even for one time to perform a second Umrah. He (PBUH) can easily do if it was beneficial.

• Performing Tawaf on Someone else’s behalf

Some people perform multiple tawafs after completing their own Umrah and donate its rewards to their beloved ones. Even some people specifically ask the pilgrim to perform one tawaf for them. This doesn’t have evidence from any hadith.

Only you can do on someone else’s behalf is performing the whole Umrah or Hajj. Not only tawaf.

• 40 Prayers in Madinah is Compulsory

Some people think that offering 40 prayers in the Masjid-al-Nabawi is compulsory and a part of Hajj. This is not true. The fact they follow is based on a daeef (weak) hadith that can’t be given as evidence for this.

Definitely, it is good if someone spends more time than the obligatory prayers but it is not compulsory to offer a specific number of prayers in Madinah. Also, visiting Madinah is not a part of Hajj.

• Touching over the Kaabah and Maqam-e-Ibrahim

Some people touch the Kaabah walls and Maqam-e-Ibrahim and then wipe their hands on their body. They think that doing such an act has blessings in it. This also doesn’t have an authentic prove from Islamic Shariah.

Some also touch the pillars of the Grand Mosque. If it has any kind of benefits for us the Holy Prophet would definitely had advised us. Blessing only comes from following Allah Almighty orders and following the Prophet (PBUH).

• Assuming Jamarat as Devils

Some people tend to believe that Jamarat are devils. They are stoning the devils. Some even call this ritual of Hajj as ‘Stoning the Shaitan (Devil)’. All we do is an act of worship followed by Prophet Muhammad (PBUH). You don’t need to get emotional.

• Haircut at Marwa

When people complete the ritual of Sa’I they get their head trimmed from two to three places at Marwa Mountain. Some shave their head. This is the totally wrong way. Instead, you should maintain the honour of the mosque and get your head shaved from a barber.

Next time when you are going to perform Hajj or Umrah you shouldn’t perform these mistakes. You shouldn’t waste your money by doing such baseless things in your Hajj or Umrah performance. Make your Hajj and Umrah acceptable to Allah and trust only approved hajj agents UK.

Allah Knows The Best.

Does Woman Equals to Man in Islam | Woman Empowerment

Some people think that women are not given proper rights in Islam. Women are being limited to their houses. Some people take this as just propaganda of anti-Islamic ideology and our biased media. I think we need to have a look to check whether it is propaganda or not?

Greatest Gathering (Pilgrimage)

In our greatest gathering that millions of Muslims attend every year by Hajj packages, almost half of the pilgrims are women. On Hajj occasion the performance of Hajj and time period is the same for men and women. All the Muslims are equal in front of Allah Almighty.

Pre-Islamic History

In the pre-Islamic era, the newborn daughters were buried alive by the Arabs. As they think that they are just increasing their expenses and nothing else. But when The Holy Prophet (PBUH) came He guided people to not to do so. He (PBUH) also gave honor to the ladies in society.

Education

In pre-Islamic era, disbelievers don’t send their daughters to school for educational purposes. But our Holy Prophet (PBUH) said that seeking education is necessary for every Muslim including men and women. Their statement is clear about the women empowerment in Islam. Hazrat Aisha (RA) was also one of the best female Islamic scholars.

Motherhood

In Islam, a mother has a high value among her family. Allah Almighty had given the mother a high status in Islam. Here is a popular hadith about the status of mother on which the scholars of all the Islamic sects agree. Once the Prophet (PBUH) said, “Heaven lies under the feet of your mother”.  (Ahmad, Nasai)

At another occasion, a man asked from the Holy Prophet (PBUH) who amongst the people is the most worthy of my good companionship?

Each time, the Prophet (PBUH) replied, your mother. When the man asked for the 4th time, He (PBUH) replied, your father. This story clearly tells about the importance of a woman as a mother in Islam.

Politics and Social Working

From the very early Islamic day’s women has a high social value at every point. In Islam, a Muslim woman can express their thoughts on different social matters and their opinions are considered if right. Women also have taken part in the Islamic battles as a nurse and some even as fighters.

In the rule of the 2nd caliph of Islam Hazrat Umar (RA), he appointed a woman as a supervisor for a bazaar (shopping place) her name was Shaffa Bint Abdullah.

Right of Heritage

In the pre-Islamic era, women don’t have any right in the heritage of their dead ones. It only belongs to the sons. In Islam, women have a right in heritage. If someone dies then his/her heritance is divided according to Islamic rules among both male and female inheritance.

Marriage

In Islam, you can’t force any woman to marry at your choice. Women are free to either accept or reject any marriage proposal. As men can divorce a woman in Islam similarly woman can get Khula (divorce) from a man if she has authentic reasons.

Women can also go outside within the safety limits. Women can do trade and job while maintaining their hijab. Now a woman can also perform Umrah pilgrimage alone on visit visa. Women can book their personal Umrah by any Umrah travel agents.

How to Reduce the Cost of Transportation in Your Umrah Package?

Muslims are free to perform Umrah but everyone has its own lifestyle. Some people prefer to perform Umrah on Easter holidays and some people prefer cheap Ramadan Umrah packages. The budget of your travelling may vary according to your decided dates.

I have seen a lot of people who either skip or postpone their Umrah plan just because of the cost. You can reduce the cost of your Umrah expenses in various ways. You can also reduce the cost of your Umrah package by managing your transportation wisely.

It can be a little bit harder to plan with your expected budget. The first advice is to consult your travel agent to provide you with a complete package that includes your transportation in your Umrah performance in Makkah. Many travel agents have some built-in packages but if you want to modify them then they can provide you with the facility of customization.

Select wisely

If you are travelling for the first time then you should book your package wisely. If you book a package that cost you too high you will not be able to do some extra things that you can do with a cheaper one. Such as you can’ visit ziarats with a minimum remaining budget.

Look For a Group Package

If you book your Umrah with an organized group it will reduce the cost of your Umrah package. The transportation expenses will be divided into the whole group equally. To go with a group you will have to be flexible in your travel dates.

Use Public Transport

Although many travel agents provide the transport facility in their Umrah package. Almost every hotel in Makkah and Madinah provides free shuttle services to Umrah pilgrims. If you still have to travel within the city of Makkah and Madinah you are advised to use public transport. Ask about the fare of your destination before travelling from local transport.

Select Your Hotel Near to Haram

You can also save your money by selecting the hotels that are near to Masjid-al-Haram and Masjid-al-Nabawi. In this way, you will not have to go to the Mosque by any kind of transportation. It will reduce your Umrah expenses.

Your time will also be saved. You can spend more time in the Mosque during your Umrah. You can easily go to the mosque at prayer timings if your hotel is near to the mosque. If you are travelling with an aged one it will also be easy for them.

For D.I.Y Umrah

If you going on Umrah without any agent then you are advised to use the latest taxi services like Uber and Careem. You can download their app on both android and ios devices. Especially don’t take a taxi closer at the airport as they will charge you higher than normal prices.

In short, you should do some extra efforts in searching for the most suitable travel plan. You can only find the best deals through approved Umrah agents UK. You should book your package at least a month prior to your departure and be flexible in your travel dates.
